The lighthouse buildings are abandoned.  The sand has migrated past the lighthouse, and nature goes its way.  The closer the lighthouse comes to the cliff, the more isolated it will be.

Coastal erosion causes the cliff to move further and further inland, and the sand dune grows continuously.  In 1992 the fight against the sand was completely given up, and the sand now is allowed, year by year, to “eat” the lighthouse buildings.  Today the dune has blown past the lighthouse and has become nearly 20 metres lower.

Today there are approx. 20 metres to the cliff, and, since the erosion of the coast the past years has taken an average of approx. 3 metres per year, the lighthouse will fall down on the beach in less than 20 years; and 125 years of drama will become history.
